Seen at NeoCon 2017

This year’s key trends at NeoCon 2017: greater emphasis on health and wellness echoed abundantly in new sit/stand solutions and bigger use of natural fabric and lighting; the continual move to a more residential design aesthetic for business environments, greater amalgamation between furniture products and technology and the presence of lines with elements to support collaboration and/or privacy.

With an event the size of NeoCon, it’s impossible to cover every detail, so here’s our outline of some of the newest products to have captured our attention.

Made in the USA, the HON Empower is a simplified benching system that pairs well with their Contain or Voi credenzas, along with other HON collections.
The all new Arrivals Wing system from Inscape offers privacy in today’s open office. This flexible system offers employees a spot to escape for focus or collaborative work. Supports diverse work styles while addressing acoustic and visual privacy needs.

Pantone Color of the Year

What is the Pantone Color of the Year?

To answer that question, we have to first ask, what or who is Pantone? Pantone is the world’s leading authority on all things color. At the end of each year they provide color forecasting on what is going to be next year’s most popular color(s). The Pantone color of the year is a symbolic selection, a cultural snapshot based on society’s mood and attitude.

The 2017 Pantone Color of the Year is Greenery 15-0343, which is symbolic of “new beginnings”. Slightly more on the green side of a yellow-green the color is set to be a reminder to breathe deep and reinvigorate ourselves.

Greenery 15-0343

In the words of Pantone’s Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman, “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize and unite, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

After a stressful election period we can all agree that the release of Greenery is well timed. It is a reminder of new beginnings but at the same time reminding us of the constants in life that we progressively long to pursue: sustainability, creating healthy indoor environments by bringing the outdoors in and holistic living.

As populations grow and our urban environments become denser a way to offset the alienation of concrete and nature is to infuse green into office spaces.  As nature’s neutral, it is easy to add a pop of green in any setting, whether through an accent chair, a tack board, painting an accent wall or accessorizing.  Greenery will be certain to bring a touch of vibrancy to your office space. Not only will it be a pop of color and provide more depth to your space, it also follows the biophilic approach to design which has been proven to boost productivity and creativity.

As we venture into a new year, let us know how AAA can help bring Greenery into your office space!

The Standing Meeting

Standing Height Conference Tables are all the rage. The average company meeting goes like this…you walk into the meeting feeling inspired- your brain buzzing with new ideas, you can’t wait to get them all out, and then you settle into your conference room chair and begin feeling too comfy and easily distracted, all the while wondering how long this meeting is going to take before you can get your ideas out on the table.

Standing meeting keeps everyone at the meeting upright and active, so they are able to think on their feet (quite literally). Research shows those standing at meeting are more collaborative, energetic, and perhaps most importantly, time-efficient, which translates to shorter meetings!!! Here are some of our favorite designs and ideas for the Standing Meeting table.
